It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if never given the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it's been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing at all," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the match."

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

When she was out the team required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.
