I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
