British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community shared its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
