Barça Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
