In a bizarre crossover event that challenges conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations echo through the darkness." The plot features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret group.
The mission centers on "bizarre trials and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content
Players who finish the adventure will receive an unique katana alongside multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
